Celebrating Valentine’s Day is not permissible for a number of reasons.

1-     It is an innovated festival for which there is no basis in Islam.

2-     It promotes love and infatuation.

3-     It calls for hearts to be preoccupied with foolish matters that are contrary to the way of the righteous salaf (may Allaah be pleased with them).
- Shaikh ibn Uthaymeen

- The Festivals are the part of Religion, and this is not ours.

'To each among you, We have prescribed a law and a clear way' [Quran 5:48]
'For every nation We have ordained religious ceremonies which they must follow.'" [Quran 22:67]
"Every nation has its own ‘Eed and this is our ‘Eed." [Al-Bukhari]

- The Dirty Origin of Valentine's day.

Its a festival of roman pagan culture called Lupercalia which was based on nudity and dirty relationships. and valentine's death was interlinked with this ceremony and turned as a christian festival. Even Esa (AS) and his teachings has nothing to do with this day.

The Prophet (Peace be Upon Him) said: “By the One in Whose hand is my soul, you will not enter Paradise until you truly believe, and you will not truly believe until you love one another. Shall I not tell you of something that, if you do it, you will love one another? Spread (the greeting of) salaam amongst yourselves.” (Narrated by Muslim)
